Venue Spotlight: The Resort at Horseshoe Bay

While in Marble Falls doing a site tour at another venue for a March 2016 Wedding,

we thought, while we're here, we should stop by The Resort at Horseshoe Bay (since it's been

awhile since either of us had done an event there). Shelley Brasher, the Resort's Associate

Director of Catering Sales, did a fantastic job showing us around. While we knew it was a

wedding venue, we were immediately reminded of how fantastic of a space it was. Not just for

a ceremony and reception, but an entire weekend of activities and fun!

Guests are used to waking up on a Saturday, going about their routine and getting ready for a

wedding that night, however, we've noticed couples like provide a Wedding Weekend

Experience, where guests (not just bridal party or immediate family) can feel included the

entire two or three day weekend.

The Resort at Horseshoe Bay is a perfect example of how your guests (even if they are not art of the rehearsal dinner or bridal luncheon) can still make the most of your wedding weekend. Once they arrive, they definitely do not feel like they're in a typical wedding venue

or the Hill Country, but more like a resort in the Caribbean, with the resort pools, constant lake

levels and their Beach at the Yacht Club.

While you're getting ready for your wedding that day, your guests could be off jet skiing,

playing 18 holes of golf in one of the resort's four golf courses, touring wineries in nearby

Fredericksburg, or renting a bike to venture around the resort. What's great about the resort

being in Marble Falls, is it really does feel like an escape from the “day to day”. Even when we

were in the midst of doing a tour with Shelley, our Monday afternoon felt like a mini-vacay.

Shelley mentioned the most popular amenities for guests to use would be The Lakeside Pools,

Golf, Spa, and Restaurants. There is even an app that guests may download upon check in to

help them enjoy everything: “The App connects the guests to the resort and allows the guest

to never miss an event while they are on property. Anything, from updates on current weather conditions, to specials for that day” could be accessed from the app, Shelley explained.

Another opportunity to involve everyone who comes in early is to rent lawn games from The Resort and host mini tournaments on the Live Oak Lawn. The game room is a versatile area that could be an entertaining escape for children or a unique space for your rehearsal dinner if the couple is wanting a fun and alternative venue. The Lilly Lawn at the Yacht Club recently was renovated and given a Tuscany themed space with themed landscaping, a small pergola, and Large pergola with a Chandelier.

A Magnolia Lawn ceremony highlighting the water view from our very own Eclipse Event Co. planner Lauren's wedding:

Dinner at the Yacht Club provides a stunning water view for your guests that remains the same throughout the year since the lake has a constant level. If you want a tropical feel but do not prefer the water, the Palm D'or lawn would be a great option. The Palm D'or reception area serves as great blank canvas to create unique looks for each couple. It also has the perfect staging set up built in for live bands.

Thank you so much, Shelley, for the tour!
