A Star Wars-Inspired Jewish Wedding at The Line Hotel | Katie + Joey

Some weddings feel like they were dreamed up just for the two people getting married, and Katie and Joey's celebration at The Line Hotel was exactly that. Planned by Stacy Harrell of Eclipse Event Co., the day wove a joyful, tradition-rich Jewish ceremony together with a playful Star Wars sense of fun, all set against a bold, citrus-and-jewel-toned palette punctuated with disco balls that felt entirely their own. Katie and Joey were wonderfully hands-off throughout the planning process, trusting Stacy's vision every step of the way, and it showed in the best way, because every colorful, creative detail of the day made clear exactly who they are as a couple.

The morning began with hair and makeup by Katy Reddell Beauty, easing the wedding party into the day while Two Pair Photography and Cloud Craft Studios moved quietly through the suites, capturing the details from Katie stepping into her gown to Joey getting ready just down the hall. It was a relaxed, laughter-filled start, the calm before a day full of big moments.

Merveille Events transformed the chuppah into a showstopper, layering tropical greenery with vivid orange, pink, and red blooms and an ombré drape overhead, while clusters of disco balls flanked the aisle for an unexpected, glamorous touch. As the ceremony began, the soundtrack took a delightfully unexpected turn grandparents and parents walked in to 'The Force Theme,' and Katie made her entrance to a piano cover of 'Princess Leia's Theme,' a nod to Joey's love of Star Wars that had guests grinning from ear to ear. Rabbi Will Hall led Katie and Joey through their ketubah signing and vows beneath the chuppah, and true to Texas form, Joey broke the glass underfoot in his cowboy boots before the two exited to 'Cowboy Take Me Away.

Guests moved next door into the Topaz Ballroom for cocktail hour, where a jazz trio from Matchmaker Band set a smooth, easy mood. The Inviting Pear's welcome sign and acrylic seating chart greeted guests as they made their way in, while Merveille Events carried the floral story through with frog vases and votive clusters on the cocktail tables and a lounge area dressed in green accent chairs and more disco balls gave guests a spot to relax before dinner.

When the doors to the Onyx Ballroom opened for reception, the transformation stopped guests in their tracks. Premiere Event Rentals dressed the caterpillar-style tables in alternating periwinkle and slate linens with mismatched green and blue glassware, while the stage glowed behind a silver sequin and tinsel backdrop, outlined in neon tubing and hung with disco balls of every size. Katie and Joey made their entrance to a live cover of Crazy in Love. The energy is only built from there: toasts, a joyful Hora, and a cake-cutting that told two stories at once. Michelle's Patisserie crafted an amaretto peach bridal cake topped with a fondant dog, alongside a University of Texas–themed groom's cake shaped like R2-D2, dressed in a tiny cowboy jacket and longhorn bolo tie the perfect meeting point of Star Wars and Texas.

Bat City Beats photobooth kept guests laughing well into the night, fueled by a late-night Home Slice Pizza run, before Katie and Joey made their grand exit through a tunnel of light sabers and pom-poms. It was a day that managed to hold deep tradition and total playfulness in the same breath, and Stacy and the Eclipse Event Co. team are so grateful Katie and Joey trusted us with their vision from start to finish.
