Fall Al Fresco Wedding at Allan House
On October 19, 2019 Lauren and Derek started their forever at the Allan House. The morning started with Lauren and her bridesmaids getting their hair and makeup done by Weddings by Celissa Rae at Hotel Eleven. The wedding team began preparing the ceremony and reception space for the festivities that were about to take place. Premiere Events set out the tables, chairs, and napkins, Remi + Gold began placing the fall colored floral onto a custom hexagon wooden altar by Mancino Iron, and Loot Rentals placed two mid century modern lounges.
The couple opted for a first look, where the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony begins. I love the idea of couples getting to enjoy a quiet moment together and soak in the day before they celebrate with all of their loved ones.
Guests began arriving and were greeted to the sweet sound of Jeremy McBee’s singing and piano. They took their seats and watched Lauren and Derek exchange vows, rings, and their first kiss as husband and wife! The guests cheered to the newlyweds and made their way inside for cocktail hour. They were greeted by Royal Fig who provided light bites of mushroom risotto cakes and prosciutto wrapped butternut squash.
During this time, the team went to work to flip the ceremony space into the reception space. A great tip is to repurpose decor from ceremony for cocktail hour or reception. You get to save some money and enjoy the beautiful decor for longer. The wedding altar doubled up as a backdrop for the sweetheart table! The tables and chairs were seamlessly set and it was time for guests to move inside to begin dinner. Guests ate, toasted to the newlyweds, and tore up the dance floor as Spacecraft Entertainment provided the tunes. Lauren and Derek treated their guests to an espresso bar from Creature Coffee and a s’mores late night snack. YUM!
At the end of the night, Lauren and Derek enjoyed a final private dance together to the Glasgow Love Theme song before getting sent off with sparklers and a 1957 Rolls Royce from Transportation Consultants.
