Disco Derby At The Grand Lady

When Emily and Hayden told us their wedding theme was “Disco Derby,” we knew this was going to be a full send celebration—color, sparkle, personality, and a whole lot of fun. No beige-on-beige vibes here. We’re talking mirrored everything, statement colors, Texas charm, and dance-floor energy from start to finish. Art with Eclipse Event Co. couldn’t wait to bring it to life.

The Grand Lady gave us the perfect setting to build it all out. Their team was amazing (as always), and the light-filled space made every detail shine. From setup through send-off, we worked side by side to make every corner feel uniquely them.
The day started with glam, and Blush N’ Bangs showed up ready. Their hair and makeup team made everyone look effortlessly cool—soft waves, fresh glowy skin, and just the right amount of bridal polish. The bridal suite was full of good energy all morning, and it set the tone for the rest of the day.

As guests arrived, they fully embraced the theme—decked out in their Derby best. Think bold dresses, bright suits, wide-brimmed hats, fascinators, and fun fashion moments at every turn. It brought an extra layer of personality to the whole day and made the entire event feel even more like an experience.

Once our Eclipse crew got onsite, the transformation began. Grand Lady Floral completely knocked it out of the park with their design. They filled the space with layered bud vases, taper candles, bold pinks and greens, and statement blooms. They even incorporated disco balls into the hanging ceiling install that caught the light in the dreamiest way.

The reception design was anchored by a massive “SAGER” sign in mirrored letters, surrounded by clusters of disco balls and flowers. Front and center sat the pastel checkered dance floor by Center Stage, made up of soft greens, pinks, blues, and white—hands down one of the most complimented design details of the night. Every table was dressed in soft green linens from Premiere Events, paired with maize napkins and the cutest custom guest notes from minted weddings. It was playful, bold, and perfectly balanced.

Baylee Reed Photo and New Road Productions captured it all—Baylee’s photography brought out every laugh and happy tear, and the New Road team made sure the entire day was documented with cinematic style. From portraits to party shots, they didn’t miss a beat.

Meanwhile, Peak Beverage was keeping everyone refreshed with signature cocktails and perfect timing at every bar. PeJ Events served up passed appetizers (bacon-wrapped quail was a major hit) and followed it with a Texas BBQ buffet that had people lining up fast. It was hearty, comforting, and seriously good.
Dessert came from L.A. Sweets Bakery, who created the most adorable red velvet heart-shaped cake, plus towers of chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. Equal parts nostalgic and delicious.

When dinner wrapped, Cruz Collective lit up the space—literally and musically. With uplights, dance floor lighting, and a playlist that flowed from classics to pop to full-on dance anthems, the party took off and never slowed down. From the bouquet toss to the last private dance, the energy stayed electric.

Emily and Hayden knew exactly what they wanted, and they didn’t hold back. Every choice—from the colors to the music to the layout—was thoughtful and totally them. And just when we thought the night couldn’t get better, they closed it out with a bubble send-off. It was the perfect ending to a wedding that didn’t miss.
